If you've been looking for a cheap ereader of good quality, you'll probably want to find links to FREE ebooks. You're in luck; there are loads of sites featuring free e-books legally. Most of the books will be so old they've passed into the public domain, but among them you'll find a lot of great classics. Can KINDLE read library ebooks? 
Most of the cheapest ebook readers will handle the format of library ebooks. The KINDLE doesn't, but there are ways to convert library books so you can read them on KINDLE. If you plan to read library books on your KINDLE ereader, check out mobi2kindle; it's free conversion software that you don't need to be a tech wizard to use.  

If you've chosen a KINDLE, you'll have to do some converting for some of these freebies, though you'll find free KINDLE-formatted e-books on some of the links. Do check out Calibre and RetroRead, as they make converting easy.
